Owner & Founder

Cortney V is a black female entrepreneur who founded Movement Dance Studio with her love and passion for beauty, health and wellness. Cortney wanted to create a safe space for people of all walks of life to come together and fellowship through physical fitness and thier love of dance. Cortney has been entreprenuer for the last 15 years; dedicating her life to giving back to others through her business ventures. Movement Dance Studio has been created out of love, passion, and care.

 

Cortney has made a goal to inspire and movtivate others to see their passions through with the mindset that you can excel no matter the obstacles large or small. She hopes to create a community that grows together through the world of dance. Cortney has created a team that will strive to continuously show our students compassion, dedication, and consideration as they flow through thier journey of dance.

STAFF BIOS

Movement Dance Studio

Saquoia H.

  • Started her dance journey at the age of 7 when she attended Freedom Theater in Philadelphia. She took up Tap and Movement as well as Martial Arts.

  • After Freedom Theater, she joined Walnut Street Theater to further expand her knowledge in performing arts.

  • At 13 she continued her dance education by attending Bodies in Motion Performing Arts and Dance School, taking a variety of classes including Tap, Jazz, Ballet, etc. This is where her love for dance grew stronger.

  • After graduating high school, she attended Dance Sensations Cultural and Performing Arts Center, located in New Jersey. She focused more on honing her Ballet skills.

  • Once leaving for college she joined Abstract Dance, which was a dance group started by students on Campus. During her time she helped to create pieces that were performed at different event across campus.

  • Upon returning home, she continued to dance and teach across churches in the Philadelphia area along side her sister, Bobbi B.

Bobbi B.

  • ​Started her dance journey at the age of 3 when she attended Bodies in Motion Performing Arts School in Philadelphia. At a young age she excelled at all her classes.

  • During her time at Bodies in Motion, she also attended The Rock School for Dance Education where she focused on leveling up her Ballet skills.

  • After her time at the Bodies in motion and The Rock School, she joined Dance Sensations Cultural and Performing Arts School.

  • She was apart of competition teams and obtained many rewards during that time.

  • She has taken classes at Broadway Dance Center and joined The Professionals Dance Company both located in New York.

  • She has had amazing dance moments in her life including dancing for Mariah Carey in 2013 for her Christmas at Rockefeller Center event and dancing for the 76ers mini dance team for the 2010-2011 and 2011-2012 season.

  • Today she continues to teach dance and is currently dancing with the Bswan Dance Company.
